Change I Can Believe In.

Kathleen Parker, conservative Washington Post columnist, makes a point that I’ve thought since November 4th. And I love it. Don’t get me wrong, I long for policy change too–a first rate health care plan for all, a smarter foreign policy, economic recovery and more–but I love this as an initial sign of what is to come

By his example, he telegraphs the following messages: Being smart is good; education is good; being a good father is essential. Being an egghead is cool.

The change we’ve been waiting for may not be immediately quantifiable, but personal responsibility, educational ambition and smart public diplomacy — all by example rather than exhortation — could go a long way toward curing what ails us.
